!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ... Try to get to Raleigh before January, that’s all I’m saying.
The Ruxton at the exhibit actually is the one whose build thread went up at VWVortex, for those interested.
Where have all the lightweights gone?

I’ve seen that Scarab before. It was the Geneva (IL) Concours a few years ago. That same show is coming up this weekend!

Well, Ruxton + Woodlites is the combo. It’s how they are. A few survivors that continued to be driven got the lights swapped back in the day, but the look is supposed to be with the Woodlites...
The funniest part about that paint job is that the owner wanted to keep it a surprise until it was ready, so the restorer was limiting his pics on VW Vortex, and eventually got permission to post pics of the paint job in black & white. In other words, pictures that were totally accurate, but deceptively so. It’s the paint job pattern that was developed for the original test model, but rather than use a spectrum of the same bright color for this one, they decided to go with grays.

Ruxtons are awesome but I too would like them with some other headlights. I’m pretty sure that some Ruxtons must have been delivered some with traditional headlights. Special orders were quite common in early days of motoring...
